Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab to contest ‘UC Chairman’ election in next 10 days

Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has announced to contest the Union Council (UC) Chairmanship election in the next 10 days. During the press conference, Murtaza Wahab said that he will not wait for 6 months to fulfill the legal requirements of the mayorship of Karachi.

He said that there is an intention to work and the work will be seen to be done, they will bring such a system, in which improvement will be seen in a clear and transparent manner.

The PP leader further said that in the next 10 days he will contest the election from one of the union committees, I and the deputy mayor have decided to contest the election immediately.

He said that those who criticize that we are not elected, we are appointed by the majority of the council.

Murtaza Wahab also said that the roads and walls of the city are not for anyone’s publicity, solving the water problem in Karachi is our priority.

He said that the cleaning of drains, where new drains are required, will be made to put the KMC on its feet.

Mayor Karachi further said that federal government is doing camphor, KMC, Solid Waste and all other institutions are working.

He said that the property tax will be collected by the town and will also be spent.

Murtaza Wahab said that Karachi gets 100 million gallons of water per day from Hub Dam, the line is from 1960 and no one has repaired it.

He said that a new water canal is being laid from the Hub Dam, the people of West District and Kemari will benefit from this canal while water will be provided for industrial use.

Mayor Karachi said that work will be done on providing sea water through de-salination, a 5 MGD plant will be installed in Ibrahim Hydari.

He said that 200 acres of land has been acquired in Kemari for the cemetery, where an ideal cemetery will be built, which will have all the facilities.
