Iran elected hardliner Ebrahim Raisi as new President

Conservative judiciary head Ebrahim Raisi has been elected Iran’s eighth president, the interior ministry has announced.

The ministry confirmed on Saturday that Raisi won 61.95 percent of the vote on a voter turnout of 48.8 percent – the lowest turnout for a presidential election since the 1979 revolution. Raisi got 28,933,004 votes.


Hajj policy 2021:Saudi citizens and foreign residents to perform Hajj

Pakistanis will not be able to perform hajj this year as well, only Saudi citizens and foreigners residing in Saudi Arabia will be allowed to perform hajj.

Saudi Arabia announced Saturday it will allow 60,000 vaccinated residents of the kingdom to perform the annual hajj, state media reported.

India's legendary athlete Milkha Singh dies of Covid after wife's corona death

India on Saturday mourned the loss of track legend Milkha Singh, who overcame childhood tragedy to seek Olympic glory, after he died aged 91 following a long battle with Covid-19.

His death, due to Covid-19 complications, comes days after his wife's, former India volleyball captain Nirmal Kaur. Soon after the news of his death went viral, many took to social media to pay tribute. Shoaib Malik mourned the loss of Singh. "The legendary sprinter Milkha Singh (Flying Sikh) departs at age 91. Your legacy will fly high, always," the cricketer penned. "Our heartfelt condolences to his family in this hard time."

Dispute between Quetta Gladiators captain and Lahore Qalandars' Shaheen Shah Afridi has been resolved. Sarfraz Ahmed responded to Shaheen Shah Afridi's apologetic tweet by calling him a brother.
