Supreme Court orders the sale of Nasla Tower plot to compensate allottees.

The Supreme Court Karachi Registry has directed that the land of Nasla Tower be sold and the proceeds used to compensate the allottees.

During the hearing at the Supreme Court Karachi Registry, with Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa presiding, the case concerning compensation for those affected by Nasla Tower was discussed.

Advocate Shahab Sarki, representing the victims, informed the court that following the death of Nasla Tower’s builder, the victims are yet to receive any compensation, despite previous court orders to compensate 44 victims.

The Supreme Court has now instructed those who were harmed by Nasla Tower to present their claims of ownership to the official assignee, supported by the necessary documentary evidence.

The court has instructed that a report on the market value of Nasla Tower’s plot be provided and has called for an advertisement to be put out for the sale of the land.

The Supreme Court requires the auction bid report to be presented to the court as well. The Advocate General has informed the court that the commissioner has taken possession of the land and has filed the report. The victims’ lawyer has argued, emphasizing the court’s order for compensation to the victims through the sale proceeds from the plot, including the 240-yard land next to Nasla Tower, with the proceeds to be handed over to the victims.

Notices have been sent to the Sindhi Muslim Cooperative Society by the court, which is also asking for a comprehensive report on the land neighboring Nasla Tower. Furthermore, the Supreme Court has requested details concerning the late builder of Nasla Tower’s legal heirs.
