Election of Prime Minister: Nomination papers of Shehbaz Sharif and Umar Ayub submitted

The coalition parties’ candidate, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif, and the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) candidate Omar Ayub’s nomination papers for the prime minister’s role were handed in to the National Assembly’s Secretary.

Ishaq Dar, Khursheed Shah, and Hanif Abbasi submitted Shehbaz Sharif’s nomination papers, which include 7 proposers and 7 endorsers.

At the time, Ata Tarar, Anusha Rehman, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Romina Khurshid Alam, Kheldas Kohistani, Ahsan Iqbal, Sardar Yusuf, and Khawaja Asif were present.

Additionally, Awais Leghari, Aun Chaudhry, along with many assembly members, also arrived at the secretary’s office. Meanwhile, the SIC submitted Omar Ayub Khan’s nomination papers to the National Assembly’s Secretary.

Four sets of papers nominating Omar Ayub Khan as Leader of the House were submitted in the National Assembly.

Barristers Gohar Ali Khan, Latif Khosa, Asad Qaiser, Aamir Dogar, Ali Muhammad, and Riyaz Fatiana came forward to submit Omar Ayub’s papers.

It’s noted that Shehbaz Sharif will face off against Umar Ayub for the position of prime minister on March 3.
