Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan have entered into a joint defense agreement.
A spokesperson from the Foreign Office reported that a defense summit took place in Mecca, where the agreement was formalized among the three nations.
The Saudi Crown Prince, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan were present to sign the agreement, which stipulates that an attack on any one of the three nations will be regarded as an attack on all.
The spokesperson emphasized that the purpose of this agreement is to enhance collective defense capabilities against potential aggression.
Previously, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Mecca.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and other delegation members were also part of this meeting.
The discussions focused on regional dynamics and ways to further strengthen the bilateral partnership.
Additionally, a trilateral summit involving Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey is scheduled to take place in Jeddah today. This meeting is anticipated to yield significant advancements toward regional peace.
According to reports from Turkish media, an agreement concerning regional security will be signed in Jeddah today by Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has arrived in Jeddah for the summit.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir arrived in Saudi Arabia yesterday at the invitation of the Saudi Crown Prince, where they, along with other members of the Pakistani delegation, performed Umrah and offered Nawafil at the Kaaba.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan issued a statement on his X account in which he said, “Today, at the sincere invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman, we visited Mecca.”
The Turkish President further said that during the visit, he met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
He said that on this occasion, we signed a joint defense agreement between the three countries. This agreement based on collective defense capability will further strengthen our security and defense cooperation.
