Punjab Home Department imposes ban on meetings with PTI founder in Jail

The Punjab Home Department announced on Tuesday that it has prohibited visits with the PTI founder in Adiala Jail. It also forbid any media coverage.

Sources indicate that this prohibition will last for two weeks.

To reiterate, the prison authorities had designated Tuesdays and Thursdays for visits to the PTI founder.

Previously, the police had prevented the media from reporting on individuals arriving to meet the PTI founder. They blocked off Gate 5 of the facility and directed media vehicles to clear the area.

Moreover, the police have established a secure perimeter around the location where cameras had been set up outside Adiala Jail.

Officials on duty at Gate 5 informed journalists of the restriction and instructed them to relocate to a position two kilometres distant from the jail.
