CM Pervaiz Elahi signs summary for dissolving Punjab Assembly

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on Thursday signed the summary for the dissolution of the provincial assembly.

The development came after Elahi, who had managed to secure a confidence vote from the Punjab Assembly in the early hours of Thursday, called on PTI chief Imran Khan at his Zaman Park residence in Lahore.

In a brief one-line advice addressed to Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman, Elahi said: “I Parvez Elahi, chief minister of Punjab, hereby advise you to dissolve the provincial assembly.”

The PTI leader said that the advice to dissolve the Punjab Assembly has been sent to the governor of Punjab, if the governor does not dissolve the assembly, the assembly itself will be dissolved within 48 hours.

Fawad Chaudhry said that Hamza Shehbaz will be asked to form the interim government by writing a letter.
