Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday warmly received European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas in Islamabad.
During their meeting, both leaders welcomed the positive trajectory of Pakistan–EU relations, noting steady progress and agreeing to deepen their mutually beneficial partnership through enhanced political dialogue, economic cooperation and collaboration on regional and global challenges.
They exchanged candid assessments of regional and international developments ahead of the 8th Pakistan–EU Strategic Dialogue, which is scheduled to follow. Earlier the same day, Kaja Kallas arrived in Pakistan on an official visit at the invitation of the Deputy Prime Minister.
During the visit, DPM Ishaq Dar and HR/VP Kallas will co-chair the 8th Session of the Pakistan–EU Strategic Dialogue — the highest-level platform for structured engagement between the two sides. The EU High Representative/Vice-President is also slated to call on senior leadership, including the Prime Minister and the President.
Pakistan values its long-standing, multidimensional partnership with the European Union, rooted in shared values, robust economic ties and a mutual commitment to multilateralism. This visit underscores the sustained momentum of high-level political exchanges and reaffirms both parties’ determination to further strengthen the Pakistan–EU partnership.
