MQM-P’s Rabita Committee dissolved

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan’s (MQM-P) Rabita (Coordnation) Committee was dissolved on Wednesday.

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the MQM-P convener, presided over the committee meeting where the decision to dissolve the committee was taken in favor of reorganization.

The reorganization will extend to the provincial committee as well as districts, zones, towns, and union councils. Siddiqui established a central ad hoc committee for which he will also serve as the convener.

Notable members such as Mustafa Kamal, Farooq Sattar, Nasreen Jalil, Anis Kaimkhani, Kaiful Wara, and Rizwan Babar have been included in the ad hoc committee. The MQM-P has issued a warning against corruption within the party.

At a Rabita Committee meeting chaired by Siddiqui on Tuesday, it was emphasized that corruption will not be endured. Lawmakers were instructed to make weekly visits to the party office in their constituencies and were tasked with addressing the concerns of their constituents.

Following discussions, the MQM-P leadership is set to determine the candidate for the position of opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly.
