KARACHI – Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has established an E-Kachehri (digital public hearing platform) to deliver timely resolutions to citizen concerns and address their grievances in person.
During the inaugural E-Kachehri session conducted on Monday, residents from across the city engaged directly with the Mayor Karachi to report issues encompassing sanitation, street maintenance, water supply, sewerage infrastructure, and related municipal concerns. The Mayor Karachi promptly issued directives to applicable departments and personnel regarding the reported complaints, emphasizing the importance of expedited resolution to ensure citizens receive assistance as quickly as possible.
The E-Kachehri session operated from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., enabling numerous citizens to communicate directly with the Mayor Karachi. The initiative received positive feedback from residents, who commended the Mayor’s commitment to this approach.
Citizen complaints encompassed sanitation concerns in multiple neighborhoods, deteriorated road conditions, water distribution challenges, sewerage problems, and additional municipal issues.
In response to the complaints, the Mayor Karachi instructed relevant officials to eliminate delays in addressing public concerns and to provide expedited assistance to residents. Additionally, the Mayor Karachi directed applicable departments to maintain transparent communication with citizens regarding complaint status and remedial actions, thereby enhancing the effectiveness and accountability of the grievance resolution mechanism.
Citizens registered complaints for the E-Kachehri by contacting 021-99216727. During the E-Kachehri session, citizens also reached out via 021-99215125 and 021-99215126.
