IHC orders release of Fawad Chaudhry

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued a directive on Monday for the release of the ex-information minister Fawad Chaudhry.

During the court proceedings of a fraud case involving Fawad today, Justices Aamer Farooq and Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri pronounced the decision.

Fawad’s attorney, Qasir Imam, previously presented to the court that his client faced accusations of accepting a Rs5 million bribe from an individual.

The charge was that Fawad took the bribe in exchange for securing a job for the complainant. However, Imam noted that he had never even met the complainant, who initiated the first information report (FIR) against his client.
