
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran, where they discussed the state of bilateral relations and regional dynamics.
Sources indicate that Naqvi delivered a significant message from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir to President Pezeshkian concerning the current situation.
As reported by Iranian media, the interior minister also informed the Iranian president about the recent joint defense agreement involving Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye in Makkah. Naqvi ensured that President Pezeshkian was fully briefed on the agreement.
According to Iranian media outlets, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has maintained ongoing communication with senior officials from Gulf nations, Iran, and the United States. He is spearheading peace negotiations in the region, with the assistance of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Following his meeting with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed Iran’s willingness to facilitate joint cooperation with Pakistan. He emphasized that enhancing bilateral relations would serve mutual interests and bolster regional security and stability.
Pezeshkian noted that stronger ties with Pakistan could lead to improved regional security.
President Pezeshkian expressed that Tehran greatly appreciates the interest and goodwill demonstrated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other Pakistani officials in fortifying and broadening relations with Iran. He noted that Iran is keen on enhancing its ties with Pakistan across various sectors and is prepared to facilitate joint cooperation.
He emphasized that improving bilateral relations and fostering deeper cooperation would serve mutual interests while also bolstering regional security and stability.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi remarked that the relationship between Pakistan and Iran is robust and unbreakable. He stated that Islamabad is committed to taking serious steps to comprehensively enhance its relations with Tehran.
Previously, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, during which they discussed the regional situation.
