Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was not granted a fair trial in accordance with the constitution: Chief Justice Faez Isa

The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faiz Isa, gave his opinion on the presidential reference related to the Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto case in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faiz Isa, gave a brief verdict and said that the opinion of the Supreme Court is unanimous on this matter, we judges are bound to decide according to the law, the opinion of the Supreme Court will be unanimous, unless they admit the mistakes themselves. 5 questions have been raised in the reference, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto did not get a fair trial as per the constitution, fundamental rights were not followed in Bhutto’s trial.

The Chief Justice emphasized that the judiciary’s role is to dispense justice. Despite numerous instances in history where judgments have fallen short of accuracy, without rectifying past errors, we cannot proceed in the correct manner. This matter still awaits a resolution.

Chairman of the People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, was in attendance at the Supreme Court during the announcement of the brief ruling.

Upon hearing the court’s opinion, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari became visibly distressed.

At the prior hearing, the Supreme Court had concluded the Bhutto case’s hearing following the completion of arguments presented by all involved parties and their aides.

The reference regarding Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s execution was submitted by Asif Ali Zardari, in his capacity as President of Pakistan, back in 2011.
