The United States again struck multiple coastal areas of Iran today, the U.S. military confirmed.
Explosions were reported in Bandar Abbas, Sark, Konark and Chabahar, close to the strategic Strait of Hormuz; witnesses described thunderous blasts, windows rattling and plumes of smoke rising over the shoreline.
According to the U.S. military, the strikes were carried out to reduce threats to the free passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier, overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday, U.S. forces attacked southern regions of Iran. Iranian authorities confirmed the martyrdom of eight members of the armed forces.
Iranian media reported that these young servicemen from the air and naval forces were martyred in incidents around Bandar Abbas and Bushehr.
