Terrorist attack in Mir Ali, 7 martyrs including Lieutenant Colonel and Captain

Seven soldiers, including a lieutenant colonel and a captain, were martyred in a terrorist attack on a security checkpoint in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has stated that the terrorists used a vehicle loaded with explosives to strike the checkpoint, followed by multiple suicide bombings.

A section of the building collapsed due to the suicide bombings, claiming the lives of five jawans during the incident.

A spokesperson reported that six terrorists attacked the security checkpoint in the Mir Ali area. Lieutenant Colonel Kashif bravely eliminated all six assailants during a clearance operation.

ISPR confirmed that Lieutenant Colonel Kashif and Captain Muhammad Ahmed Badr were martyred amid the fierce firefight.

The 39-year-old Lieutenant Colonel Kashif hailed from Karachi, while the 23-year-old Captain Muhammad Ahmed Badr was from Talagang.

Other martyrs included Havaldar Sabir, Naik Khurshid, Sepoy Nasir, Sepoy Raja, and Sepoy Sajjad.

Havaldar Sabir was from the Khyber district, Naik Khurshid from Lucky Marwat, Sepoy Nasir from Peshawar, Sepoy Raja from Kohat, and Sepoy Sajjad from Abbottabad.

ISPR emphasizes that Pakistan’s security forces remain determined to eliminate terrorism from the country and that the sacrifices of our valiant soldiers further solidify our resolve.

The funeral prayers for the martyrs were conducted at Bannu Cantt, as reported by ISPR.
