Social media platforms Facebook, YouTube, Twitter go down amid PTI’s virtual rally

Several social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube service disruption affected millions of Pakistanis on Sunday, internet monitoring group NetBlocks confirmed.

The disruption was reported amid virtual rally organised by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. The virtual rally was scheduled to begin at 9 pm, but the whole social media turned down.

Thousands of social media users reported the disruption, and people are using VPN services to access social media and streaming platforms.

 

Some users also complained about internet services being slow.
