A decisive security operation in Shewa district, North Waziristan, resulted in the elimination of 22 militants, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced.
The ISPR reported that, acting on specific intelligence about militant hideouts, security forces engaged in fierce exchanges of fire over the past 24 hours that left 22 Indian-sponsored militants dead.
Authorities recovered an arsenal of weapons and ammunition from the slain fighters—materiel the ISPR says ties them to multiple terrorist incidents in the area. Clearance teams continue to sweep the terrain to neutralize any remaining threats.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, reiterated during his visit to Quetta Garrison that “hostile forces attempting to undermine Pakistan’s progress through proxies and propaganda will ultimately fail in the face of the state’s resilience and the unity of its people.” While interacting with officers and troops deployed in Balochistan, he stressed that Pakistan’s rise cannot be halted by propaganda, fake news, or externally sponsored terrorism, the ISPR said in its news release.
