Nepra jacks up electricity price by Rs2.83 per unit

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) raised the electricity rate by Rs2.83 per unit on Wednesday due to the monthly fuel cost adjustment.

This will result in an extra Rs26 billion cost for electricity users, exempting K-Electric and lifeline consumers.

Consumers will see the updated electricity rates reflected in their May 2024 bills.

Previously, the government raised the electricity rate by Rs4.92 per unit due to fuel adjustment.

February’s increased costs were imposed on consumers in their April 2024 bills.
