Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister says Tehran had no involvement in the attack on a US Apache helicopter.
He insisted the US aircraft was not deliberately targeted by Iran, noting that in the highly charged atmosphere of the Strait of Hormuz such incidents can occur unintentionally amid close military patrols and heightened alertness.
A US official, however, claims that an Iranian drone struck the American helicopter; investigators have not yet determined whether the impact was intentional, and a thorough inquiry is still underway.
Iranian military sources add that no airstrikes were carried out in the Hormuz area for the past 24 hours.
