The ECP can disqualify ministers under Article 63 (1): Kanwar Dilshad

Former Secretary Election Commission Kanwar Dilshad explained the powers vested in the Chief Election Commissioner and the Election Commission.

Talking to a private TV channel, Kanwar Dilshad said that the Election Commission could disqualify ministers under Article 63(1).

He further said that under the Constitution of Pakistan, the Election Commission has the power to disqualify ministers.

The Election Commission today rejected the allegations of the federal ministers and decided to send legal notices to them.

The ECP will send notices to Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry and Azam Swati seeking evidence of the allegations.
