The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has started issuing Class Licenses for providing internet services at the district level. The initiative is intended to promote local entrepreneurship and expand broadband coverage across Pakistan.
Under the framework, a Class License will be issued for 10 years. Applicants must pay a one-time initial license fee of Rs. 300,000. An annual license fee (ALF) of Rs. 100,000 for the first year must be paid along with the initial fee before the license becomes effective. The ALF for subsequent years is payable in advance and will be subject to an annual increase of 10 percent.
Interested applicants should apply in accordance with the prescribed checklist and submit their applications online through PTA’s portal. The license template is available on PTA’s website.
PTA said it remains committed to promoting digital inclusion, strengthening broadband infrastructure, and supporting the growth of the telecommunications sector across the country
