On Saturday, the Federal Ministry of Interior made the pivotal decision to register FIRs and annul the passports of those deported from foreign lands. This landmark decision emerged from a high-level assembly led by the Federal Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi.
According to the newly introduced policy, these deportees will not only face formal FIRs, but their passports will be revoked, and they will be ensnared on the Passport Control List (PCL) for an extensive duration of five years.
To enhance and refine the regulations surrounding passports, Minister Naqvi has instituted a dedicated committee under the stewardship of the federal interior secretary.
Naqvi passionately articulated that the individuals who have been deported have tarnished Pakistan’s reputation on the global stage and will henceforth be denied any leniency.
This significant meeting was attended by key figures, including Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, the interior Secretary, DG FIA, and DG Passports.
