Aseefa Bhutto Zardari secures NA-207 seat unopposed

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, the daughter of President Asif Zardari, has won the MNA seat for Nawabshah’s NA-207 constituency without opposition.

The election officer reported that originally eleven candidates had filed their nominations. Of these, seven were disqualified, and today (Friday), three withdrew their nominations. This left Aseefa Bhutto as the uncontested winner for her place in the National Assembly.

After President Asif Zardari vacated this seat when he became president, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari was chosen by the PPP to take over.

Election Officer Sher Ali Jamali verified that Sardar Sher Muhammad Rind, the candidate supported by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), did not challenge the decision when his nomination was declined.
