US, UK Strike Houthis targets in Yemen after Red Sea Attacks, Saudi Arabia calls for restraint
The United States and the United Kingdom have “successfully conducted strikes” against Houthi targets in Yemen, President Joe Biden said late Thursday.
“Today, at my direction, U.S. military forces — together with the United Kingdom and with support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada, and the Netherlands — successfully conducted strikes against a number of targets in Yemen used by Houthi rebels to endanger freedom of navigation in one of the world’s most vital waterways,” Biden announced.
British Foreign Secretary David Cameron says in a post on social media site X that the safety of UK vessels and the freedom of navigation across the Red Sea is paramount and that is why we are taking action.

Saudi Arabia said early Friday that it was following with “great concern” the military operations taking place in the Red Sea region and the airstrikes on several sites in Yemen.
