On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, many areas of Karachi — including Shadman UP, Keamari, Jackson Market, Sherin Jinnah Colony, Akhtar Colony, North Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, and New Karachi — reportedly experienced gas shortages.
According to media reports, Sui Southern Gas Company had announced there would be no gas load-shedding during the Eid holidays, yet residents complained that gas was largely absent from pipelines, leaving household stoves cold and preventing many vendors from cooking as usual.
With demand rising during the festive days, numerous families and small businesses were forced to switch to expensive LPG cylinders, stretching already tight budgets burdened by heavy bills and taxes; complaints continued across the affected neighborhoods.
