A most-wanted operative linked to the banned Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA) was apprehended on Monday during a swift, intelligence-based joint operation carried out by the Sindh Rangers and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), officials said. Weapons and explosive material were recovered from his possession.
The suspect, identified as Abdul Jabbar Sarki, son of Ghulam Rasool, was arrested at a Rangers check post near Raees Goth on Hub River Road while travelling from Quetta to Karachi, according to an official statement. Authorities said they seized detonators, ball bearings, firearms and other explosive components during the operation.
Officials said the arrested militant allegedly planned attacks on sensitive locations in Karachi in coordination with associates. They added that he had remained in contact from abroad with SRA commander Sajjad Shah, who is accused of orchestrating a range of sabotage activities in Karachi and elsewhere in Sindh.
