On August 5 and 6, security forces eliminated 12 terrorists during two intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in the Washuk and Mastung districts of Balochistan, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.
The military’s media wing stated that these operations were executed under the initiative “Rad-ul-Fitna-3,” which is part of an ongoing intelligence-led counterterrorism effort aimed at what it refers to as “Fitna Al Hindustan.”
The ISPR detailed that on August 5, security forces identified the movement of six terrorists in the Washuk district and initiated a targeted operation. After an exchange of gunfire, all six militants were neutralized.
In a different intelligence-based operation in the Mastung district on August 6, another six terrorists were killed during a fierce firefight with security personnel, according to the ISPR. Additionally, a terrorist hideout was dismantled during this operation.
The military’s media wing emphasized that these operations are part of the larger “Azm-e-Istehkam” initiative, which has been sanctioned by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, aimed at eradicating foreign-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan.
The ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will persist with intelligence-driven operations nationwide until the menace of militancy is completely eliminated.
