In a major, intelligence-driven operation in the Korangi area of Karachi, Rangers arrested seven members of the notorious “Topi Gang.”
A Rangers spokesperson said the pre-dawn raid uncovered suspects implicated in a wide range of street crimes — including armed robbery and motorcycle theft. Officers recovered weapons, multiple mobile phones and a significant amount of cash from the detained individuals.
The spokesperson added that investigators have linked the gang to more than 900 criminal incidents across Sindh since 2018. The group’s activities were not limited to Karachi; evidence ties them to crimes in Sukkur, Kandhkot and Rohri as well.
Probes further revealed a pattern of pickpocketing on crowded buses, and CCTV footage identified the alleged central suspect, Muhammad Zafar. Multiple cases have been registered at several police stations, and raids are ongoing as authorities work to apprehend other suspected accomplices.
