
On Monday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif extended his congratulations to the nation following Moody’s upgrade of Pakistan’s credit rating from Caa1 to B3.
In a statement, he expressed his approval of the improvement in Pakistan’s sovereign credit rating by Moody’s.
He recognized the hard work of the government’s economic team.
He commended Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Army Chief and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, along with all pertinent ministers and officials.
“The upgrade in Pakistan’s credit rating signifies global confidence in the government’s economic policies and reforms,” he noted, adding, “The recognition of the enhancement in Pakistan’s economic situation by international financial institutions and rating agencies is encouraging. Pakistan’s economy is moving towards stability, and the upgrade by international institutions is clear evidence of this.”
He remarked, “The government has enacted effective measures to stabilize the economy.”
“Due to the government’s ongoing efforts and reforms aimed at economic stability, international institutions’ trust in Pakistan is on the rise. The government will continue to expedite the reform process to establish a sustainable foundation for Pakistan’s economy,” he stated.
He concluded, “Our objective is to create a robust, self-sufficient, and sustainable economy for Pakistan.
