
The Lahore Sessions Court has ruled on singer Ali Zafar’s defamation claim against Meesha Shafi.
Additional Sessions Judge Asif Hayat delivered a reserved verdict. In the verdict, the court ordered singer Meesha Shafi to pay Rs. 5 million in damages.
The sessions court also stopped Meesha Shafi from tweeting about the harassment.
The Advocate Umar Tariq Gul argued on behalf of Ali Zafar, while Advocate Saqib Jilani argued on behalf of Mesha Shafi.
had filed a claim for Rs 100 crore in damages against Meesha Shafi, who had accused Ali Zafar of sexual harassment.
A total of 20 witness statements were recorded in the case, 284 appearances were made in the case, and 9 judges were replaced during this time.
