Renowned playwright and poet Khalilur Rehman Qamar has poignantly responded to the critiques directed at his dramas, asserting that certain famous personalities criticize his work without genuine justification.
In an engaging discussion on a YouTube channel, Qamar explicitly mentioned Nadia Khan, remarking that she has no connection to the world of acting and lacks command over both Urdu and English.
‘I have never even considered collaborating with her,’ he declared, emphasizing that the Pakistani drama industry is deeply anchored in Urdu, necessitating a thorough mastery of the language from its actors.
Qamar also addressed comments by seasoned actresses Maria Khan and Atiqa Odho, noting that although he has not worked with them yet, he holds their long-standing careers in high regard.
‘I remember watching Maria Khan in classics like Tanhaiyan and Dhoop Kinare, and Atiqa Odho in iconic dramas such as Dasht and Najat. InshaAllah, if they enhance their Urdu proficiency, I would be keen to work with them,’ Qamar expressed, conveying optimism that they might eventually find satisfaction in his creative endeavors.
Having penned some of the most celebrated series in Pakistani television, Qamar is known for crafting hits like Pyare Afzal, Mere Paas Tum Ho, Sadqay Tumhare, and his latest venture, Mein Manto Nahi Hoon.
