Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has declared that the entire Hajj 2027 process has been fully digitized from start to finish, following the special instructions of the prime minister.
During a press conference in Islamabad, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf stated that pilgrims would have the ability to complete their applications and payments in just minutes from the comfort of their homes using the Pak Hajj app and digital portal.
He mentioned that approximately 400,000 pre-registered pilgrims have reached the final stage of the Hajj application process, emphasizing that the digital system would eliminate long queues, unnecessary travel, and extra costs for the pilgrims.
The minister noted that three digital payment channels have been established to allow pilgrims to pay their Hajj fees from home. Under the government’s Hajj scheme for 2027, 107,526 seats have been allocated, with the 40-day Hajj package priced at Rs1.2 million.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs announced that the collection of the first installment for Hajj 2027 would commence on August 17, requiring pilgrims to deposit 50% of the chosen Hajj package cost as the initial installment.
Sardar Muhammad Yousaf indicated that Habib Bank Limited has been designated as the authorized banking partner for the Ministry of Religious Affairs, with a memorandum of understanding signed between the ministry and the bank.
Habib Bank representative Muhammad Asad Khan expressed the bank’s satisfaction in providing services to Hajj pilgrims and assured that they would be supported through over 1,700 branches nationwide. He also mentioned that no additional fees would be charged to pilgrims under the bank’s Islamic banking services.
The federal minister highlighted that the digitization of the Hajj process represents a significant advancement in offering pilgrims more accessible, transparent, and efficient services.
