
Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held talks with Lebanese Army Commander General Rodolphe Haikal on Tuesday, with both sides agreeing to further strengthen bilateral military cooperation and defence ties.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Haikal received a guard of honour from a smartly turned-out contingent of the armed forces upon his arrival at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
During the meeting, the two military leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security, defence cooperation and ways to enhance bilateral military relations.
The talks emphasised expanding professional engagements between the two armies, increasing training collaboration and strengthening institutional links.
Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed the importance of Pakistan’s long-standing and friendly relations with Lebanon and stressed the Pakistan Army’s commitment to broadening defence cooperation with the Lebanese Armed Forces.
General Haikal praised the professionalism and operational capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces and recognised their contributions to regional stability and international peacekeeping missions.
