In July 2026, Pakistan received $3.631 billion in remittances from its overseas citizens, marking a month-on-month increase of approximately 5% and a year-on-year rise of 13%, as reported by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
In June 2026, remittances totaled $3.475 billion, while in July 2025, overseas Pakistanis sent $3.215 billion back home, indicating a significant annual growth.
Saudi Arabia was the leading source of remittances in July, with Pakistani workers sending $914 million to their home country. This amount represented a 10% increase from the previous month and an 11% rise compared to July 2025.
The United Arab Emirates followed as the second-largest contributor, providing $737 million in remittances for the month. Additionally, Pakistan received $555 million from the United Kingdom and $317 million from the United States.
The data also revealed that remittances from other Gulf nations reached $462 million in July 2026.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed his approval of the $3.6 billion in remittances received in July, highlighting the 13% increase compared to the previous year.
He stated that the growth in remittances underscores the ongoing support of overseas Pakistanis for the national economy. Furthermore, he noted a monthly increase of about 4.5% in remittances for July.
Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged the vital role of overseas Pakistanis in the economic framework of the nation and commended their contributions to economic stability and growth.
He assured that the government would persist in implementing measures to assist overseas Pakistanis and resolve the challenges they encounter.
