Afzal Khan, a well-known actor in the Pakistani film industry, known as John Rambo, has expressed his concerns regarding the discrimination faced by artists in the television industry and the distribution of roles.
John Rambo is one of the most popular stars in Pakistan’s film industry and has acted in hundreds of films during his long career, particularly known for his brilliant comedic acting and dancing skills.
Recently, John Rambo appeared as a guest on a program, where he discussed the problems faced after the transition from film to television and the distribution of roles in the industry.
John Rambo is also among those artists who turned to television after the decline of the film industry. Although he has appeared in several dramas, he was mostly given comedic roles.
The actor says that because of this, I missed out on playing the serious and strong roles that I wanted.
During the conversation, John Rambo said that in the past, actors like Javed Sheikh and Nadeem Baig were seen in the lead roles of the story and were given opportunities to play roles in a real sense, while young actors like me were usually limited to dance or action scenes.
He expressed regret that when the time came for me to play a strong and serious role in terms of age and experience, the film industry was in decline.
He says that the television industry is also not providing me with roles according to my abilities.
John Rambo also said that I still have the energy to work today and want to be given quality and dignified roles through which I can express my full acting abilities.
