Field Marshal Seyyed Asim Munir met in Tehran with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
According to Iranian officials, the meeting focused on diplomatic efforts to reduce regional tensions and to promote peace, stability and security across West Asia.
Participants described the discussions as substantive and aimed at identifying practical steps to de-escalate the situation.
The Field Marshal arrived in Tehran yesterday as part of US‑Iran mediation efforts. His visit comes at a moment when Iran is reported to be preparing a response to American ceasefire proposals.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is also in Tehran, continuing important, high-level meetings related to the US‑Iran talks.
