
Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of the Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, reaffirmed that the fight against terrorism will continue with unwavering resolve and full strength until lasting peace is achieved.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a prestigious military awards ceremony was held at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, where officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army were honoured for acts of bravery and distinguished service.
Field Marshal Asim Munir attended the ceremony as the chief guest and presented military awards to serving personnel as well as to the families of martyrs, recognising exceptional courage during operations and outstanding contributions to the nation.
At the ceremony, 50 Sitara-e-Imtiaz awards and 12 Tamgha-e-Basalat medals were conferred. Medals awarded posthumously were received by the families of martyrs with dignity and solemn pride.
Paying solemn tribute to the nation’s martyrs and war veterans, the Field Marshal said the country holds its fallen heroes in everlasting pride. He described their sacrifices as a sacred trust upon every Pakistani, the golden thread that sustains the peace and security enjoyed across the land.
He also lauded the resilience, courage, and steadfastness of the families of the martyrs, acknowledging their unmatched sacrifices and unwavering devotion to the homeland.
The Chief of Defence Forces further praised the operational readiness, professionalism, and determination of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies, commending their relentless efforts against terrorism and reaffirming Pakistan’s firm resolve to eradicate terror from the country.
