
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has touched down in the United States with the aim of attending the distinguished United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session.
After concluding his visit to the United Kingdom, the prime minister has embarked on this journey to the US. He is poised to deliver an influential address at the UN General Assembly during his stay.
Alongside his participation in the high-level UN gathering, PM Shehbaz Sharif is anticipated to meet the US President, Donald Trump, among other esteemed Muslim leaders.
Upon the completion of his official duties in New York, Shehbaz Sharif is expected to journey back to London, where he plans to meet with his elder brother and former prime minister, Nawaz Sharif.
According to the Foreign Office, the prime minister’s speech is set to capture global attention, focusing on the predicaments in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine—shedding light on the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He will advocate for substantial international measures to ease the plight of the Palestinian community.
The prime minister will also voice Pakistan’s stance on significant global matters, such as regional security, climate change, terrorism, Islamophobia, and sustainable development.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has already made his way to New York and has a bustling agenda. Besides accompanying PM Shehbaz in prominent meetings, Dar is slated to engage in over a dozen bilateral meetings with counterparts at both ministerial and senior levels.
During his recent UK visit, Shehbaz Sharif underwent a medical examination, addressed the Pakistani community at an overseas convention, and participated in both official and private dialogues in London.
