
A major adjustment in the prices of petroleum products has been executed by the federal government, signaling a noteworthy shift for drivers throughout the country.
As highlighted in the recent comprehensive notification from the Ministry of Finance, petrol prices have been markedly reduced by Rs7.54 per litre. Conversely, high-speed diesel prices have experienced a modest increase of Rs1.48 per litre.
The revised pricing structure took effect precisely at midnight on 1 August 2025.
After this adjustment, the cost of petrol is now Rs264.61 per litre, a decrease from the previous Rs272.15 rate. In contrast, high-speed diesel is priced at Rs285.83 per litre, which is a slight increase from Rs284.35. This announcement has been made official via a Ministry of Finance notification.
The impact of the new fuel prices is expected to resonate across various sectors, influencing transportation costs and consumer financial situations. The Ministry has confirmed that these changes became operative at 12am on 1 August as part of standard biweekly price evaluations that reflect global market fluctuations and shifts in the exchange rate.
