
Twenty-five newly elected members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on reserved seats took oath of their offices in Peshawar on Sunday.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi administered the oath.
Seven women members of JUI-F, seven women members of PML-N, four members of PPP took oath against reserved seats for women in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly.
Khadija Sardar and Shahida Waheed of ANP and Nadia Sher also took oath against seats reserved for women in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly.
Earlier, the Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court nominated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to administer the oath.
The nomination comes in response to the request of the Election Commission of Pakistan, in line with Article 255(2) of the Constitution of Pakistan. A formal notification issued by the High Court Registrar directed that the oath-taking ceremony should take place at the earliest in accordance with the constitutional framework and prescribed legal procedures.
