On Tuesday, the district and sessions court took decisive action, extending the interim bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, Imran Khan, along with his wife, Bushra Bibi.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka presided over the cases, affirming Imran Khan’s bail across six legal matters and Bushra Bibi’s bail in a singular case, both valid until October 7.
In an added layer of judicial protection, the court prolonged the security order safeguarding Imran Khan from arrest, concerning matters tied to the tumultuous events of May 9, including charges of attempted murder and orchestrating protests. Likewise, Bushra Bibi was granted an extension of her interim bail in the Toshakhana case, which centers on accusations of counterfeit receipts.
Throughout the proceedings, the court withheld a definitive ruling on Bushra Bibi’s bail applications, and the arguments for Imran Khan’s case remained unfinished. The court noted that a comprehensive judgment on the bail applications for Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi would be rendered together.
Advocate Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry represented Imran Khan, who faces judicial scrutiny across various police stations like Tarnol, Karachi Company, and Kohsar, among others.
