A Pakistan Army Lieutenant Colonel and a soldier were martyred in an attack by Fitna al-Kharij on a security forces convoy in Bannu.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces received information about the suicide bomber’s vehicle. Security forces were conducting an operation in the area based on intelligence.
The ISPR said that during the operation, a convoy of security forces was attacked by Fitna al-Khawarij and the Khawarij rammed a vehicle loaded with explosives into a security forces vehicle, resulting in the martyrdom of Lieutenant Colonel Shahzad Gulfraz and Sepoy Karamat Shah.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army said that during this operation, 5 Khawarij were also killed. The Taliban government has failed to prevent the use of Afghan soil for terrorism against Pakistan.
The ISPR said that even during the holy month, the terrorist activities of the Khawarij continue from Afghanistan to Pakistan. It is clear from the terrorists’ violation of the sanctity of the month of Ramadan that they have no connection with Islam.
ISPR says that Pakistan will continue its indiscriminate operations against the Khawarij. The counter-terrorism campaign will continue with full force under the ‘determination of stability’ of the security forces. Such sacrifices of brave soldiers further strengthen our unwavering resolve.
