Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Abdul Aleem Khan stated on Sunday that Punjab should be split into three or four provinces, and creating more provinces would not harm anyone.
Speaking at a workers’ convention in Faisalabad, he mentioned that central, southern, and northern Punjab should become separate provinces, so people can access essential services nearby.
He highlighted that many citizens have to travel long distances for basic needs, causing unnecessary difficulties.
The IPP leader also noted that such services should not be confined to Punjab, but should be provided in Balochistan as well.
The federal minister mentioned that appeals would be made to all government allies and every chief minister to consider this proposal. He said Sindh should also be divided into northern, southern, and central Sindh.
Aleem Khan emphasized that delivering justice to people’s doorsteps is the party’s goal.
He pointed out that Faisalabad is a significant city but lacks a High Court bench. The federal minister also announced that the Faisalabad–Pindi Bhattian Motorway would expand from four to six lanes.
He mentioned that work on the Faisalabad–Lahore GT Road would begin soon.
