Balochistan’s distinguished National Party leader, Sardar Akhtar Mengal, faced an unexpected hurdle as he was stopped from embarking on an international journey, according to officials from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Mengal, who had booked a seat on a private airline heading towards the vibrant city of Dubai, found himself disembarking unexpectedly. This was due to his name featuring on the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL), the officials revealed.
When reflecting on this unforeseen incident, Mengal expressed, “I was all set to fly to Dubai when the attentive immigration staff notified me that my name was indeed on the PNIL, consequently leading to me being offloaded.”
In response, former federal ministers Agha Hassan and Ghulam Nabi Mari vociferously criticized this decision, branding it as illegal and unconstitutional.
They highlighted and underscored the fact that Akhtar Mengal remains an active, serving Member of the National Assembly, with his resignation still pending acceptance.
