Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar stated that all conditions specified in the Supreme Court’s order were met during the medical examination of PTI founder Imran Khan.
In a media briefing in Islamabad, Tarar emphasized that health-related issues should not be politicized, reiterating that this has been the government’s stance both historically and currently.
He asserted that the government had not displayed any disrespectful behavior towards Imran Khan following the court’s directive and insisted that health matters should remain distinct from political affairs.
The information minister indicated that the government would handle all issues in accordance with the Constitution and legal frameworks.
Tarar emphasized that the government has never ridiculed or belittled anyone concerning health issues.
He remarked that political disagreements are separate from health concerns, which should not be turned into a political debate.
He noted that the reasons presented in the review petition were public knowledge and stressed that no special privileges would be extended.
According to Tarar, the government’s stance on health issues remains unchanged and will continue to do so in the future, asserting that all inmates should receive equal treatment rather than preferential care.
The minister also mentioned that the Supreme Court’s order had been fully executed and that a transparent medical examination was conducted.
He confirmed that Imran Khan’s sister and a physician from Shifa International Hospitals were present during the examination.
Tarar stated that the examination was conducted transparently, with all necessary security and logistical arrangements in place.
He added that the administration had ensured the Supreme Court’s order was implemented in line with the Constitution and legal standards, fulfilling all legal obligations.
