Security forces have eliminated nine terrorists supported by India during two operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that the operations took place in Tank and Lakki Marwat based on reports of terrorist presence.
In Tank, security forces successfully targeted the terrorists’ location, and after intense fire exchange, seven were killed.
Another intelligence-based operation happened in Lakki Marwat district. In the following fire exchange, two additional militants were neutralized by the security forces.
Weapons and ammunition were seized from the killed India-backed terrorists, who were involved in multiple terrorist acts against Security Forces, Law Enforcement agencies, and civilian killings.
‘Sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining India-backed extremists found in the area as part of a relentless Counter-Terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan, continuing at full speed to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country,’ the ISPR statement read.
Earlier this month, security forces carried out two successful operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing seven terrorists linked to an India-backed militant group, the ISPR reported on Tuesday.
According to the military’s media wing, six militants were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Mir Ali, North Waziristan. In the second action, carried out in Spinwam on confirmed intelligence, one terrorist was eliminated after a brief exchange of fire.
The group had been involved in multiple attacks on security forces, law enforcement agencies, and the targeted killing of innocent civilians.
