in the sidelines of the International Forum on ‘Interrelation of Times and Civilizations – Basis of Peace and Development,’ President Asif Ali Zardari and the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, connected in an informal setting in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, on Friday.
Amid their conversation, the two presidents emphasized the dire need for strengthening bilateral ties further. Their interaction was marked by the exchange of best wishes and pleasant sentiments, reinforcing their friendly rapport.
Earlier that day, President Zardari met with the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen People and the Chairman of the Peoples Council, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, also in Ashgabat.
Both Pakistan and Turkmenistan expressed a shared ambition to bolster their bilateral cooperation across various domains, with particular emphasis on the areas of trade and connectivity. The meetings comprehensively deliberated on the wide-ranging aspects of their bilateral relations.
Asif Ali Zardari reiterated invitations to the Turkmen President and National Leader to visit Pakistan.
President Zardari also addressed an international forum held here in the Turkmen capital, where he stressed an enhanced focus on the promotion of regional connectivity as well as cultural and economic collaboration in the region.
The president, addressing the forum on “Interrelation of Times and Civilizations- Basis for Peace and Development” said that Pakistan and Turkmenistan shared a deep-rooted bond of brotherhood which was built on mutual respect and commonalities of faith and a shared vision for a better and peaceful future.
The event, held to mark the 300th birth anniversary of Magtymguly Faragi, a great Turkmen thinker, poet and philosopher, was also attended by several regional leader
