Uzbekistan: PM Imran Khan addresses Pak-Uzbek Business Forum
Prime Minister Imran Khan has arrived in Tashkent today on a two-day visit to Uzbekistan to attend the South and Central Asian Conference.
Prime Minister Imran Khan told the Pakistan-Uzbekistan Business Forum in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, that Uzbekistan and Pakistan have historical and cultural ties.
Besides Federal Ministers Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry, Sheikh Rashid and Ali Zaidi, National Security Advisors Dr Moeed Yousuf and Atif Khan are also accompanying Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Addressing the Pakistan-Uzbekistan Business Forum, the Prime Minister said that trade relations between the two countries need to be further enhanced.
Prime Minister Imran Khan added that the Pakistan-Afghanistan-Uzbekistan railway project would revolutionise the region.
He also said that Pakistan is connected with the Central Asian states and wants a peaceful political solution in Afghanistan.
“Peace in Afghanistan is important for the region, and trade with neighboring countries raises people’s living standards,” he said.
