On Wednesday, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump for agreeing to extend the ceasefire.

In a message on X, he said that, on his own behalf and on behalf of Field Marshal Asim Munir, he is grateful to President Trump for accepting their request to prolong the ceasefire.

The Prime Minister underlined that Pakistan will continue all-out efforts to promote a negotiated settlement and said he was confident all parties will maintain the ceasefire.

Earlier, President Trump had noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir had requested a halt to attacks pending a mutually agreed proposal from Iran’s leadership, and that attacks on Iran were being stopped at their request.

US Vice President JD Vance has not yet left for Pakistan for talks with Iran.

A report from a flight tracking website has revealed that the arrival of American military aircraft in Islamabad has begun.

According to the report, large US Air Force cargo planes, Boeing C-17 Globemaster III with equipment, have landed at Nur Khan Air Base ahead of a possible visit by top US officials to Islamabad.

According to flight data, three planes arrived at different times on April 19, the first at 8:30 a.m., the second at 11:03 a.m., and the third at 2:40 p.m., while another plane is also reported to be en route.

More US aircraft were seen refueling at Ramstein Air Base and Moron Air Base, suggesting a wider logistics operation.

The planes reportedly brought security, communications systems and other support equipment, which are usually deployed ahead of high-level US visits, although officials have not yet officially confirmed any visits.

Earlier, reports had emerged about an advance US delegation arriving in Islamabad. 

According to sources, advance teams of foreign delegations are arriving in the country ahead of the upcoming important negotiations.

According to the ISPR, the Field Marshal thanked the Iranian leadership and people for their warm hospitality and conveyed the best wishes of the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister, and the Pakistani people to the Iranian leadership.

The ISPR said the visit reflects Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to a peaceful resolution of the Middle East conflict and its efforts to promote peace.

On Friday, oil prices plunged and U.S. stocks surged after Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said the Strait of Hormuz will be “completely open” for commercial traffic for the rest of the ceasefire.

Brent crude, the global benchmark, fell 11.2% to just below $88.25 per barrel, while WTI, the U.S. benchmark, sank 10.9% to $81.20 per barrel. Oil traded at a five-week low.

“In line with the ceasefire in Lebanon, the passage for all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz is declared completely open for the remaining period of the ceasefire,” Araghchi wrote on X.

According to Arab media reports, WTI crude oil has become 12% cheaper after the announcement by the Iranian Foreign Minister.

According to media reports, WTI is at $83, while Brent has fallen by 11% to $88 per barrel.

UAE crude oil futures are down 8% at $93 per barrel.

ایرانی وزیر خارجہ نے کہا کہ آبنائے ہرمز کمرشل شپنگ کے لیے مکمل طور پر کھول دی گئی، جنگ بندی کے دوران جہازوں کی آمد و رفت جاری رہے گی۔
