
Security forces, in a daring and coordinated response, have successfully rescued at least 190 passengers and eliminated 30 terrorists.
This operation enters its second day with relentless determination after terrorists seized control of the Jaffer Express near the rugged terrain of Balochistan’s Bolan district, as reported by state media on Wednesday.
The dramatic hostage crisis erupted on Tuesday near the historic Mashkaf Tunnel, approximately 157 kilometres from Quetta. Terrorists launched a strategic assault on the Jaffer Express, taking over 400 passengers captive, among them several members of the security forces.
Security forces proudly announced today, as reported by the state-run Radio Pakistan, that they have bravely rescued approximately 190 passengers from the clutches of their attackers. This courageous group included women and children.
Security sources revealed that, so far, they have neutralized 30 terrorists, with their relentless operation to eliminate the remaining insurgents continuing.
The report additionally mentioned that 37 wounded individuals have been whisked away for essential medical treatment.
‘The terrorists who orchestrated the despicable attack on the Jaffar Express are actively communicating with their facilitators in Afghanistan,’ added Radio Pakistan.
Security sources further disclosed that ‘the terrorists have stationed suicide bombers dangerously close to some innocent hostages. These insurgents are adorned with explosive vests.’
The sources also warned, ‘Sensing imminent defeat, the terrorists are resorting to using defenseless people as human shields.’
